My Journey to Becoming a Counsellor

My own growth through personal life struggles is what helps me relate so deeply with clients. I have struggled with the pain of the past, as a survivor of childhood trauma, and I know what it’s like to have difficult experiences which have an ongoing impact on adult life.

My life experiences and the positive experience of having my own counselling are what lead me to become the therapist I am today.

I Have Empathy For Others And Bring Warmth And Understanding To Sessions

I have a natural ability to:

  • Understand people's experiences

  • Accept people for who they are and in their current life circumstances

  • Help clients heal their past and manage the present

People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can be fully present for people's stories, even if they are difficult stories.

Our Sessions Are Focused On You

Our sessions will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to figure things out about yourself and be heard and understood.

It's important to me to provide a non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and ensure that the process is collaborative. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

As A Counsellor, I Embrace the Following Philosophies

  • I believe that you are worthy of love and care

  • I believe that emotions heal when they are witnessed and validated

  • I believe that the biggest thing standing in your way is the fear that life always has to be the way that it is now

  • I believe that Brené Brown was right when she said, "Owning your story is the bravest thing you'll ever do"

  • I believe that loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, scars and all, is one of the most courageous things we can do

My Professional Background
