Group Therapy

I work with adults, children and young people on a one to one basis, and with adults on a one to one or in group therapy

On the face of it, group therapy is an opportunity to gain support from others who have similar experiences and to share and support them in return.  But its benefits go deeper than that.

I can offer group therapy at a reduced cost because of the numbers involved, but it is not counselling’s poor relation.  Far from it.

The therapeutic transitions and healing we can make inside a group experience can be deeper than on the one-to-one.  They can be difficult, and they can be beautiful.

Below are the therapy groups I am currently offering:

Lesbian Grief Group – 90 minutes £40

This is a safe, confidential, and supportive therapeutic group for anyone whose partner has died, however long ago, and who identifies as a lesbian.

This grief therapy group is intended to provide support and healing alongside others that understand your grief following the death of your life partner.

Grief is hard for most of us, but if you identify as lesbian, it can raise some additional difficulties.  Our grief can feel invisible and isolating because others have not accepted our relationships, or because others don’t recognise our grief as real.

Our grief can be disenfranchised by others.  Society can invalidate the significance of our relationships and, in turn, the grief of the partner left behind.

A new group is starting in September 2021 and will be ongoing, meeting on a weekly basis for as long as you find it helpful.

Please do get in touch if you would like to be put on the waiting list or would like more information.

Women's Grief Group – 90 minutes £40

This is a safe, confidential, and supportive therapeutic group for any woman whose partner has died and who would like the support of a therapeutic group.

You will find healing through support alongside others that understand your grief following the death of your life partner.

You are welcome to this group however long ago your partner died.  I know that when a certain period has passed, society can disenfranchise our grief as it expects us to get over our grief and back to normal.  However, if your grief is left unacknowledged it can become stuck and so, in this group you get to experience support and healing, wherever you are in your grief.

A new group is starting in October 2021 and will be ongoing, meeting on a weekly basis for as long as you find it helpful.

Please do get in touch if you would like to be put on the waiting list or would like more information.

Women’s Therapy Group – 90 minutes £40

This is a safe, confidential, and supportive therapeutic group for women (aged 18 and over) who struggle in their relationships, whether those are romantic, or friendship, or family relationships.

One of the biggest struggles we face as humans, in a world where we are no longer raised by large extended families and tribes, is our feelings of whether we are good enough, whether we belong, and how we might fit in and be accepted.  It causes depression, anxiety, social anxiety, overthinking and problems in our relationships.

Group therapy has huge benefits because of the way we can become aware of how we relate to others, and why, and how they relate to us; and we do this in a safe environment with others who are there for the same purpose: to explore how we feel inside and how that affects how we are on the outside.

A new group is starting in November 2021 and will be ongoing, meeting on a weekly basis for as long as you find it helpful.
